Maybe you followed my campaign when I became the first eighteen-year-old to run for President of the United States. (Chronicled in the book Vote for Larry.)
Swimming always works for me. Also, I try to keep the curtains closed in order to keep the heat out. Popcicles are also very refreshing. Even just sitting in the shade of a nice old tree can help.
Pretty simple really. When I am at home, I just keep the curtains closed and at night keep my windows open. And If I have to, then I use fan instead of AC. Other than than that, sitting in the shade helps.
I use a fan in my window it does just as good a job as an AC but uses less electricity! I don't even own one, nor to I own a pool. So the only way to keep cool is use the fan.
LUCKY! where i live when it gets humid and and has been raining alot, you can smell cow manure when ever you go outside or open a window. i only live a couple of fields away from it sooooooo....
Here it gets to 104º Degrees on an average day, so I swim alot and we keep our a/c at 81º. But I hang out t the mall or in my house or at friends when I can.
I know this might sound weird because normally you sweat when you do this, but i ride my bike. It is more windy as long as you ride fast. And it doesn't involve electricity, oil, or gas. You just have to remember while you're out to leave nothing but footprints. Or bike tracks. hehe
I think this site is great because it allows people to discuss things without getting bashed for their personal opinions. Wherever you are "Larry", Kudos!
Well, I keep cool in hot weather usually by closing the windows and turning on the fan to no higher than 2. Or I go swimming at the town pool. That's what I usually do. But this year in Boston and around, we didn't have many hot days. Maybe like a week or so, but that's it.
I sleep with my window open at night in the summer, and not only does it keep cooler it is very relaxing to watch the stars b4 bed. gives you a new sort of energy in the morning

It doesn't get to hot where I'm at. Most of the time we can just leave the windows open. The AC is rarely turned on at my house.
i just open my window or turn on my fan, reading diverts my mind from the heat if its one of tamora pierces books
I stay inside and write/draw while blasting music. It's very mind-clearing.

Where I live it's not hot at all...on 4th of July we could'nt see fireworks because it was too foggy. Apparently this happens a lot.

I don't mind the humiidity, so i go to my backyard, and in it there's a HUGE bush, with no inside, so its dark & cool. Its where I am now.
Also agree w/ Elain! Love writing here!!!!! So peaceful
